We are very proud of the design and build service we offer. We were given the following design brief for the final of TV programme Googoosh Music Academy 2017. This is an example of how we work closely with our clients to produce a piece of fabrication from their design brief.
It’s Persian New year coming up and I need to make these for the Stage, the final of the X-factor style show. Norooz is a spring celebration and they choose seven objects to display, such as eggs, apples, garlic, coins and so on. So instead of boxes we have gone for the Stars shape which is part of the show. I need to have them a different height so that they stand in different areas.
The design brief from our customer:
I have done some sketches, but not CAD drawings, so I hope this makes sense:
I need 7 x Plinth Stars that will have an equal width of 450mm.
The height of 3 will be 1000mm, 2 x 900mm and 2 x 450mm.
The stars will sit 150mm below the top of the legs to create the box.
I am imaging you cut out the stars and place the 10 sides on each one.
I have calculated that if this is a 3m by 3m sheet you will need 2. I’m not sure about the thickness but may 8mm?
The blue plinth is an example of the shape but not the finish as it needs to be a box / tough in the top.
This all needs to be clear Perspex so that we can light them from underneath.
We worked with Sarah Mursal to come up with something which not only fulfilled the design brief, but was in budget and looked good too! And all in 12 days! This slide show gives you an additional insight into our design and build service. It shows how the initial concept evolved into the finished product.
